Sunday 4 September

A Welcome Reception will start at 19:00 in the South Hall Complex within the Pollock Halls campus of the University of Edinburgh, near the conference venue and university accommodation. Drinks and nibbles/canapés will be served in the South Hall room, and a cash bar will be available in the Kirkland room within the same complex. 

Monday 5 September

The conference will be held at the John McIntyre Conference Centre within the Pollock Halls campus of the University of Edinburgh. Registration will open at 8:30 in the Foyer, and the conference itself will start at 9:00 in the Pentlands room.

Three plenaries will take place on Monday in the Pentland (whole) room:

  • The Geoffrey Barker Medal award ceremony and Lecture by Prof. Robert A. W. Dryfe from 9:10 to 10:25.
  • The Castner Medal award ceremony and Lecture by Dr David Hodgson from 13:50 to 15:05.
  • The Albery Lecture by Prof Andrew R. Mount from 15:15 to 16:15 (the Corrosion Science symposium will continue during this period). 

Five parallel sessions will be held in different rooms:

  • Fundamental and Applied Electrochemistry (Pentland East room)
  • Energy and Environmental (Pentland West room)
  • Electroanalysis and Sensors (Boardroom)
  • Biotechnology (Holyrood room)
  • Corrosion Science and Engineering (Prestonfield room)

Poster sessions for Group 'Monday' posters will be held in different spaces within the venue (Foyer, concourse, Salisbury, Prestonfield) during breaks.

The Gala Dinner will be held in the South Hall Complex at 19:00. Due to the number of delegates, the dinner will be held over two rooms within the complex: South Hall and Kirkland rooms. 

Tuesday 6 September

The conference will resume in the John McIntyre Conference Centre at 9:00, with the Registration reopening at 8:30 in the Foyer.

Two plenaries will take place on Tuesday in the Pentland (whole) room:

  • The UR Evans Award ceremony and Lecture by Prof. Alison Davenport from 9:00 to 10:15.
  • The Faraday Medal award ceremony and Lecture by Prof. Beatriz Roldán Cuenya from 16:00 to 17:15. 

Five parallel sessions will again be held in different rooms:

  • Fundamental and Applied Electrochemistry (Pentland East room)
  • Energy and Environmental (Pentland West room; Holyrood room from 13:40)
  • Electroanalysis and Sensors (Boardroom)
  • Biotechnology (Holyrood room until 12:50)
  • Corrosion Science and Engineering (Prestonfield room)

Poster sessions for Group B posters will be held in different spaces within the venue (Foyer, concourse, Salisbury, Prestonfield) during breaks.

Best Talk (£200 courtesy of Results in Chemistry) and Best Poster (£100 courtesy of Journal of Materials Chemistry C and Materials Advances) will be awarded at the Conference Awards ceremony that will be held in the Pentland (whole) room at 17:15.
