Registration is required to present and attend the conference. Registration fees will not only include the admission to plenaries, oral and poster sessions held at the John McIntyre Conference Centre, but also the social event taking place on Sunday 4 September (subject to the capacity of the venue; see note below), lunch and refreshments during the conference breaks and the Gala dinner that will be held at the Playfair Library Hall in the University of Edinburgh's Old College (subject to the capacity of the venue; see note below).

NOTE: venue capacity for Sunday social event, Gala Dinner and Conference

We are extremely happy to anounce that Electrochem 2022 will become the largest Electrochem conference in many years. However, we are sorry to let you know that, based on the unprecedented number of registrations for the conference that we have received so far, we have already reached the full capacity of the venues where the Sunday social event and the Gala Dinner will take place. This means that delegates registering from now on will not be invited to join the Sunday social event and the Gala Dinner.

For these same reasons, we may also have to bring the registration process for the conference to a close before the standard registration deadline below.

IMPORTANT: Card payment issues during registration

A new set of rules was introduced by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in March 2022 to protect customers when shopping online (you can find more information on these chages through this link). This set of rules has resulted in more stringent checks on card payments, which have led to an increase in card declines when using the registration portal. Some of the ongoing issues are:

  • If the card holder has made repeated attempts at a payment, the system thinks it is a fraudulent payment.
  • If the card holder is in a different country to the address registered on the payment card, it will also most likely be flagged as a fraudulent payment.
  • If If the card holder is using a VPN while registering, this can also cause problems.

For this reason, please proceed with the registration after a few days taking into account the points mentioned above. If this did not work again, please contact the Electrochem 2022 Organising Committee by email  by email to echem2022@ed.ac.uk and one of its members will get back to you shortly.

Conference registration fee discount for RSC, SCI and ICorr members

If your are an RSC, SCI or ICorr member, you can benefit from a substantial discount, as stated in the fees below. For this, you will only need to include your corrrespoding membership ID when requested during your registration process:

  1. First, you will be asked whether you are an RSC member. If you select "Yes", the registration portal will request you to type your RSC ID number.
  2. If you select "No" when asked whether you are an RSC member, further into the registration process you will be asked whether you are an SCI or ICorr member. If you are a member of either institution, please select "Yes" and type your SCI or ICorr membership number.

If your are a retired member of either RSC, SCI or ICorr, you can also benefit from the retired member discount. For this, please contact the Electrochem 2022 Organising Committee by email to echem2022@ed.ac.uk and one of its members will get back to you shortly.
