Registration

Registration for Electrochem 2022 is now closed!

Registration is required to present and attend the conference. Registration fees will not only include the admission to plenaries, oral and poster sessions held at the John McIntyre Conference Centre, but also the social event taking place on Sunday 4 September, lunch and refreshments during the conference breaks and the Gala dinner that will be held at the Playfair Library Hall in the University of Edinburgh's Old College.

LATEST NEWS: Registration process closed

The unprecedented interest that Electrochem 2022 has received from the UK, Irish and global Electrochemistry community has resulted in an outstanding number of delegates for this year's conference. This effectively means that Electrochem 2022 will become the largest Electrochem conference in many years! However, it also means that the full capacity of the conference has been reached; therefore, we have brought to a close the online registration process, and any person interested in attending Electrochem will not be able to register online, unless there are any cancellations.

For those still interested in attending Electrochem, there may be a chance that some delegate slots become available over the next few days. These new delegate slots would be prioritised to oral/poster presenters that have not registered yet. If you are interested in taking one of these slots, please contact the Electrochem 2022 Organising Committee by email  to echem2022@ed.ac.uk by Sunday 14th of August at the latest, as we will be allocating the available slots the following Monday.

The good news are that we have rearranged new venues for the Sunday Social event and the Gala Dinner, which will not take place at the South Hall complex (more information in the programme section). Therefore, every attendee to Electrochem is invited to attend both the Sunday Social event and the Gala Dinner on Monday!

IMPORTANT: Card payment issues during registration

A new set of rules was introduced by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in March 2022 to protect customers when shopping online (you can find more information on these chages through this link). This set of rules has resulted in more stringent checks on card payments, which have led to an increase in card declines when using the registration portal. Some of the ongoing issues are:

  • If the card holder has made repeated attempts at a payment, the system thinks it is a fraudulent payment.
  • If the card holder is in a different country to the address registered on the payment card, it will also most likely be flagged as a fraudulent payment.
  • If If the card holder is using a VPN while registering, this can also cause problems.

For this reason, please proceed with the registration after a few days taking into account the points mentioned above. If this did not work again, please contact the Electrochem 2022 Organising Committee by email to echem2022@ed.ac.uk and one of its members will get back to you shortly.
